We have an answered prayer
Hey sweet friends,
After eight days at the beach we have returned home just in time to bid our youngest son adieu and goodbye.

The Lord has answered Joe's prayers and ours for a job. He is headed to Ocean City Maryland today to fly sight seeing tours for the summer. Of course I have danced in every chair I can find thanking the Lord for His perfect provision.

If you're going to be in the area over the next few months and have a hankering to see the sights from up above, I hope you'll schedule your tour with Joe. HA!
Thanks for your precious prayers friends
We are grateful!

Update More Than A Job
Hey there sweetest friends,

Thank you so much for the encouraging words on my last post.

We have literally just hung up the phone with our son Joseph and the Lord has opened the door for a job flying planes towing banners at the beach in Ocean City Maryland. He leaves in a few days.

We are thrilled and dancing in every chair in this house as we Praise God for this blessing. Both Tom and I thrilled beyond words at God's goodness to our son and find great comfort that the Lord will also use this opportunity to grow our son's faith.
I can't wait to share all the lessons we are learning during this process.

Thank you for your continued prayers and encouragement as we await God's next blessing.

Here's something my sweet friend Joy shared with me earlier this week.

A day is coming when Jesus will bestow His rewards. On that day some people may wonder how you came to merit a certain reward, since they have never heard of you. But remember, He makes no mistakes."

"Just where you stand in the conflict,
There is your place.
Just where you think you are useless,
Hide not your face.
God placed you there for a purpose,
Whate'er it be;
Think He has chosen you for it;
Work loyally.
Put on your armor! Be faithful
At toil or rest!
Whate'er it be, never doubting
God's way is best.
Out in the fight or on lookout,
Stand firm and true;
This is the work that your Master
Gives you to do"

"...wherever God has placed us, and in every detail of our daily lives, He has ordained the land we are to possess to its very borders and has ordained the victory to be won."

More Than A Job
Happy Friday everyone,

Thanks for stopping by today, especially after reading today's Proverbs 31 devotion.

Last fall our son graduated from Embry RIddle and completed the necessary flight requirements to obtain his license to fly planes. Of course we were thrilled as this has been Joseph's dream career since early childhood. Even before he graduated, Joseph was diligent in his search for a job, any job as a pilot.

As the Lord would have it, every job opportunity he applied for went to someone else and our son soon found himself out of time and money so he moved back home with mom and dad. It's interesting to say the least to have an adult child living at home.

After six months, Joseph has become discouraged and some days even defeated. He looks to us for wisdom and we would love nothing better than to bless him with generous helpings of job finding wisdom. But Tom and I know first hand that the answers our sons seeks are found in the ONE who possess all wisdom.

As his parents, we are praying that our son will see past his need for a job and will look to deepen his relationship with the ONE who is all wise and is busy behind the scenes working on his behalf to bring our son the perfect job at the perfect time.

Are you waiting for the Lord to reveal His perfect plan in your life or in the life of someone you love?

What words of wisdom and encouragement can you share with us?

Never Forgotten
Hey friends,

Happy Tuesday morning to all of you.
I wanted to share some news with you today.
Many of you have been praying with us for our youngest son Joseph as he continues to wait on the Lord to open the doors to a job as a pilot and for Joseph to get his spiritual life back on track.

First, let me thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This adventure has been such a roller coaster for all of us. Parenting an adult child who has had to move back in with mom and dad is new territory for Tom and I for sure!!!

Joseph has been so discouraged during this time. I'm confident a deeper relationship with Christ would be of great comfort to him.

BUT GOD has chosen to encourage our child today.
Joseph is driving to Ocean City Maryland for an interview at this very minute. There is no guarantee he will get this job towing banners at the beach, BUT GOD is encouraging our child.

In all honesty, in the last two weeks I have been a bit discouraged, feeling left out and forgotten.
This morning as the sun rose above the tree tops I was reminded that my Heavenly Father is faithful to ALL his promises. He never fails to provide for us and we are NEVER Forgotten.

The Lord gave me these two verses today. I'm holding onto them, praying them as I type and as I work today. I'm writing them and placing them where I can see in my office.

Psalm 43:5, "Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God." (NIV)

Psalm 119:16, "Sustain me according to your promise, and I will live; do not let my hopes be dashed." (NIV)

Are you waiting on something from the Lord today? Are you struggling while you wait?
Please share your heart with us.

I'd love to keep the conversation going on this topic this week as there will be a devotion on this later this week on the Proverbs 31 web-site.

Designing Women
Okay, I'll admit it, I'm an HGTV junkie.

Right now my two favorite shows are Divine Design with Candice Olsen
What a transformation wouldn't you agree?

and
Sarah's House with Sarah Richardson
I'm always amazed at what these ladies come up with. It doesn't matter if it's a slick city pad, a country farm house or the run of the mill family home, these ladies can do it all.
I've watched them re-do and remodel every room possible and can I just say again how amazed and impressed I am with their talent.
Let us know what you think.
AND
Let us know what "remodeling" or re-making" you're up to.

Auntie Mame
Okay, so this really is one of my favorite movies ever! Especially the fox hunt scene. Wish I had it to show you

Happy June friends,

Can you believe it, another month is out and we begin a new month today?
Whew! If time moves any faster, my face will surley suffer from wind burn.
So how was your long weekend? What fun and wonderful things did you get to do ?

We moved Josh and Kelsey into their first home in the pouring rain.

After 6 hours we were all drenched, dirty and exhausted, but their little nest was delivered, unpacked and ready for use.
While the end result was a great reward, the hard work and organization it took to empty the storage unit and fill their home with all of the things they owned did not happen over night.

Both Josh and Kelsey spent many days in preparation for this move, this move did not come about without great effort. I can only image how chaotic yesterday would have been without their hard work and preparation.

All of this brings me to our next topic:
Preparing for the big move

Perhaps the Lord is preparing you to move into a new life chapter as your children leave the nest.
Perhaps the Lord is asking you to "Move On" in a relationship.
Maybe the Lord is "Moving" you to a healthier lifestyle.

Whatever the case, your move will require preparation, dedication and determination.
So...how are you preparing for your next move?

Please encourage us with your journey.
