Christmas Song
Good Morning,
To those of you stopping by after reading the Proverbs 31 devotional
http://proverbs31devotions.blogspot.com/
welcome!

How wonderful that each of us has the opportunity to choose a heart song each day.
During this special time of Christmas celebration I hope you will pause a moment today to choose a new heart-song celebrating the powerful, lovely, wonderful, life-giving, everlasting Name of Jesus! Sing forth praises to the name of Jesus today!

This year will be our first Christmas without Catherine, (my precious mother-in-law) Nick, my sweet daddy and our beloved dog Max. It's tempting to sing a somber and melancholy song of grief this year as we miss them more than words can tell; however we have chosen a different song to sing.

By focusing on the needs of others and giving gifts to a struggling family our heart song remains strong as we praise the name of Jesus!
I hope you will find a way to bless someone today, it's one way to create a strong and praise worthy heart song of your own.

Merry Christmas

Zoe - you have no idea what your devotional meant to me this morning as I read it. For various reasons, I have been unable to sing this Christmas season, yet I have discovered the joy and presence of Christ through the inner song in my spirit. As a musician, it is very hard to be unable to share a gift of song when you so desperately want to, but I have found when we offer to God what we have He is blessed, and He in turn, blesses us in a way that we would never have known had we not suffered through this kind of loss.

Thanks for speaking God today - He never ceases to amaze me with His personal, specific, voice!! Praying for you as you continue to be used by God to speak His truth into the lives of women!!

Well, I must be off to shop for our adopted 14 year old granddaughter. She has cerebral palsy and is such a blessing to us. Farewell from Iowa Betty :)

Zoe,

My thoughts are with you as you celebrate this holiday with out your loved ones. But they are with Jesus and I can think of no better place to be.
This year has been a hard one for me. It is the first one since my husband left the marriage. Although I cry alot and want it to be over for selfish reasons, I find myself at the feet of Christ. I ask for ways to help those in need. It is too much to think of the pain of Christmas past. But to sing the song ot Christ and the true meaning of the day, why anyone can do that, no matter the burden of their heart.
It is the birthday of our Lord, how can anyone be sad with that!
Blessings,
Diane

Zoe, have you ever heard this?

Christmas in Heaven

I've had my first Christmas in heaven,
A glorious wonderful day!
I stood with saints of the ages,
Who found Christ the Truth and the Way.

I sang with the heavenly choir;
Just think! I, who longed so to sing!
And Oh! What celestial music
We brought to our Saviour and King!

We sang the glad songs of redemption,
How Jesus to Bethlehem came,
And how they had called His name Jesus,
That all might be saved through His name.

We sang once again with the angels,
The song that they sang that blest morn,
When shepherds first heard the glad story
That Jesus, the Saviour, was born.

Oh, darling, I wish you had been here,
No Christmas on earth could compare
With all the rapture and glory
We witnessed in heaven so fair.

You know how I always loved Christmas;
It seemed such a wonderful day,
With all of my loved ones around me,
Everyone so happy and gay.

Yes, now I can see why I loved it,
And Oh, what a joy it will be
When you and my loved ones are with me,
To share in the glories I see.

So, dear ones on earth, here's my greeting!
Look up till the day dawn appears,
And Oh, what a Christmas awaits us
Beyond all our partings and tears!

Dr. Albert S. Reitz

Praying for you in a special way this Christmas. Thanks for your message and prayers for me :o)

Love & hugs,
Joy
