Welcome to She Speaks
Hey She Speaks friends,

I thought I'd post the most frequently asked questions and answers from past participants in my small group.
Please join in on the conversation and post your own questions.
I'm hoping this will be a way for us to get to know one another before we meet in a few days.

1. What should I wear to the conference and should I wear something different when I give my talks?
Answer: Business casual attire is best for the conference. The hotel will be cold to most of you so plan to bring a jacket or sweater.
You want to be comfortable and professional at the same time.Comfortable shoes (not your ratty bedroom slippers).
When you give your presentations- Dress as if you had been hired to speak for our group.
2. What should my teaching talk be about?
Answer:What is your spiritual passion and what would we love to hear you share?
3. I'm so intimidated and scared.
Answer: I understand that; I threw up all night the night before I gave my talk: Lysa was my small group leader.
Remember, we are all at the conference to learn from one another; not to be judgemental or harsh.
Think of this as a "polishing" experience.

I'll leave it with these for now....
Please add your comments /questions.

Hi Zoe,
I'm not preparing a presentation this year, (I signed up for the writer's track), but speaking from past experience, the small group I was in couldn't have been nicer. Everyone tried, as much as possible, to put everyone else at ease. Even though we were all strangers, we shared a bond as sisters in Christ and the encouragement and support was so comforting. The feedback so kind and valuable. It truly was like being with caring family.

Remember...all of us are like the rest of us. We are all feeling the same apprehension...but...I received nothing but love and support.

See you soon,
Joy

Ditto, ditto, ditto what Joy said! I feel the same way about the group I was in. Thanks for reminding me, Joy. Your positive words help take the jitters out of me for this year!

Suggestions for what to bring:

1) Calling cards with your contact info to share with the many new sister-friends you'll make at She Speaks!

2) CHOCOLATE! You can't have a women's gathering without chocolate. :)

Blessings to all,
Renee

I enjoyed your newsletter post this morning. :D

Woot! on your healthy lifestyle. It does make a big difference. I have had 4 days without chocolate. :D It's funny. When I don't have it for a couple of weeks, I don't miss it at all. The hard part is getting there.

Hugs, JJ
