My Friend Kim
Good Morning Bloggy Friends,

Well, the roots have been done and my tresses have been shaped.
Thank goodness I don't have to perform hair magic every morning just to cover the greys. Well... at least for a few weeks anyway.
The weekend is done and we're back to work today.
I'll see my sweet friend Kim Vail today.
Kim and her husband took their first born Heather to college last week.
I can't wait to hear all the details.
For those of you yet to deliver your first born to college, let me just say it is a bitter sweet experience!!
Check out Kim's blog to see what I mean http://www.ksvail.blogspot.com.

I can remember taking both our sons to college, unloading, unpacking and setting up their dorm rooms.
I'm sure it's a lot more fun doing all of that with a girl.
Boys could care less if the bedspread coordinates with the towels or tooth brush holder (Poor dears).

So... I'm off to work to hear all about the exciting and emotional days for my sweet friend.

I'd love to hear your stories of those exciting and emotional days.
Please share...

Hey Zoe,

My oldest went to college for the first time last year. He is enrolled at Virginia Military Institute. The best part for our checkbook was that you can't decorate or have much in the way of personal stuff. Josh's first semester consisted of lots of physical exercise and lots of yelling. The demand on these kids is two times the amount of boot camp. As we started to leave I saw him cry for the first time in years. He and I are very close and he had no idea what was in store for him. When we drove off I felt like my heart was broken. I cried for the whole weekend. I told everyone that it was a mother's right. We were not allowed to see him for two months or so. When he left he was a size 32 waist. When we saw him in October he was a 28 inch waist. It made my heart swell with pride to see him in his uniform and so happy. Next week I am taking him back and am already tearing up.
In 2 years I will be doing this again. And then in 3 years again. The big difference is that Josh the oldest has always know where he wanted to go, the other two have no idea.
I am getting the tissues ready for next week.
Blessings,
Diane

Zoe, I'm so thankful that I still have two precious years with my son before he goes off to college or university. I can't imagine our home without him. I'm trying to cherish each day, knowing that the next two years will go by so quickly.

I love these posts that remind me to be thankful for the good things that I've got!!!!

Love & hugs,
Joy

Zoe,
I feel so honored. Honored for many things: that you would share your blog with "me"; that you would share my blog with others; and honored that God gave me such a special friend in you. It was so great to see you yesterday at work and spend a few minutes of our day together. God is so amazing, isn't He? He always knows exactly the friend I need without me having to ask. He certainly blessed me with you!
I love you.
