A Bucket of Encouragement
For those of you who missed today's radion spot from Proverbs 31 here it is.

I’m amazed at how God shows up in tough times! Hi, I’m Lysa TerKeurst for Proverbs 31 Ministries.

One afternoon my friend Zoë’s husband, Tom, came home carrying a beautiful arrangement of flowers. Zoë was thrilled! But, then Tom said that he’d just lost his job.

After a week of wondering, “what now”, Zoë’s flowers had wilted.
When she threw them away God impressed something on her heart. “Save the container.
I’m going to fill it until it overflows.” So, she left the little bucket on the kitchen counter.

Over the next ten months of waiting for Tom to find work they received cards, e-mails and words from the Bible.

They placed each one in the container where the flowers had been and before long it overflowed with encouragement.

When Zoë and Tom felt discouraged they read something from the bucket and it reminded them that God was with them and that He had a plan!

Zoe, I LOVED this story when I heard you share it at "She Speaks". I also remember your "field of dreams" and seeing all those beautiful flowers that God had provided. (That story was one of the reasons I ordered the tape of your session - I wanted to always remember what the Lord did and can do - I was soooo disappointed that message had technical problems and couldn't be sent. Do you have other CD's/DVD's that can be ordered?)

Anyway...this is great. We have an "Answered Prayer Jar" (I actually bought a jar that says that right on it), and my post is about that today. I'll take a pic of it and post it on too so you can come by and see later if you want. (It probably won't be published until mid morning!)

You are a 'bucket of encouragement' to me! Love ya,
Joy

I LOVE this story. Too often God sends us encouragement and in a few days we forget it. What a wonderful idea to have a place to store them-- and be reminded of His faithfulness! Thanks so much for sharing it.

Beautiful, Zoe. What a great reminder that I need to send cards and notes of encouragement to many that I know are out of jobs right now. Thanks so much for the reminder of God's goodness and faithfulness!
