Before and After Pantry
Okay friends,
As promised here are the Before and After pictures of my pantry.
Yep, all of the good, the bad and the REALLY ugly!
BEFORE:

How did I collect so many cookbooks? I don't think I've used any of these for at least 15 years.
That's terrible!! My local GoodWIll will be getting a donation later today.

Yeah!!!!! Here's the After:

Delighted with White

Hey friends,

Tom and I have just returned home from a business trip. As soon as She Speaks was over,
I rushed home, unpacked my bags, washed my clothes and repacked my bags.
While we were away we had new shelves put in our pantry, had it painted and had an overhead light added.
I'll be posting some before and after pictures soon.
While I'm unpacking, washing clothes once again and putting my pantry back together; enjoy these lovely examples of decorating with white.

Happy Weekend friends

Wednesday Words of Wisdom
I'm very much into decorating these days, if you've been reading my blog at all, you have seen pictures of my freshly painted Dining Room. And if you know me at all you know that I love everything that sparkles and shines. When I saw a Sunburst mirror in a decorating store a few months ago, I thought... "I have to have a place to use at least one of these in my house." That lead me to do some research on these lovely mirrors. This is what I discovered.

Sun burst mirrors date back to Louis XIV, he was known as the “Sun King”. In his seventy two year reign, he used to stare into his sunburst mirror each morning to see his face in the center of the sun’s rays. All of this got me to thinking...

As a believer, shouldn't we be concerned with reflecting our sweet Jesus with everything we do, at every turn, every day? Not sure how successful I am at doing that most days.

What about you friend, when you gaze into a mirror, do you see yourself or do you see a life that reflects Jesus?

Consider the decorating angle:

Sunburst mirrors can be used to create a focal point. It's obvious they certainly add sparkle and shine to any room, and I'm all about that! I imagine we would agree that images of the sun are associated with light, so naturally incorporating this item of décor could be inspiring to be inspired to live a life that reflects the son’s rays.

Tuesday Tune-Up

Welcome to Tuesday Tune-up

Perhaps you're at the end of your rope today. Perhaps you're ready to tear your hair out. Maybe this is the day you throw your hands in the air and whisper through your tears, "I just can't do this anymore."
Whatever your situation, I want to offer you a life-line, a life preserver, an opportunity to reach out and grab hold of the One who is our hope.

I "hope" you will share your story with us and I pray you will take one of these verses each day for the next week and allow it to wash over you and fill you with HOPE.

Psalms 9:18
But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish. (NIV)

Psalms 31:24
Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD. (NIV)

Psalms 33:18
But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, (NIV)

Psalms 39:7
"But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you. (NIV)

Psalms 43:5
Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. (NIV)

Psalms 71:5
For you have been my hope, O Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth. (NIV)

Psalms 119:74
May those who fear you rejoice when they see me, for I have put my hope in your word. (NIV)

Tuesday Tune-Up
Psalm 91:1, "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty." (NIV)

"I find it shelter to speak to you"

Is this a true statement regarding your relationship with Christ?

Are you experiencing the "Shelter" He provides from fear, anxiety, rejection, abandonment, incompleteness, confusion, comparison, doubt, worry, negative self talk, anger, un-forgiveness, bitterness, poor self image, a painful past, an uncertain future, insecurity, insignificance?

Here are seven verses I hope you will use this week as you apply the shelter our Jesus offers.

Psalm 27:5, "For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock."

Psalm 32:7, "You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah"

Psalm 90:1, "A prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations."

Psalm 119:114, "You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word."

Psalm 121:5, "The LORD watches over you--the LORD is your shade at your right hand;"

Proverbs 29:25, "Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe."

Isaiah 32:2, "Each man will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land."

I'm praying you will share your story with us as you find shelter this week.

Citrus Scrub

Hi friends,

While the staff begins meeting today for this week's She Speaks Conference, I thought I'd live you with this treat for yourself.

Scrubs are a wonderful way to gently exfoliate your skin. I LOVE this Citrus Scrub because it smells so fresh and leaves my skin rosy and renewed.

Making your own scrub is easy breezy, and you probably have what you need in your pantry. I make my scrubs in an ordinary mixing bowl, and then I transfer the finished scrub to a decorative decanter or jar.

Begin by adding a small amount of the sugar, salt, coconut oil adding them one at a time in order to control the consistency. Now add the remaining ingredients.

Citrus Scrub Recipe

1 cup organic cane sugar

1/3 cup sea salt

1/2 cup organic coconut oil

2-3 tablespoons almond oil

1 tablespoon Vitamin E

A few drops of Citrus Essential Oil

Try this variation and make a yummy sugar scrub:

50 percent white cane sugar

50 percent avocado oil

1 or 2 drops of Essential Oil

Combine the ingredients in a bowl. Transfer to a decorative jar or decanter.

Happy scrubbing.

Monday's Message

I've read your posts and seen your facebook cries for prayer. I do know that heart stopping fear and anxiety many of you are experiencing today. There are only a few days left before you arrive at She Speaks with your writing and speaking hopes and dreams neatly packed with your prettiest and best outfits.

Girlfriends, I want to encourage each of you today.
You have been called by the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords to attend this conference and God rarely calls the enabled, but He always enables the called.

Do you remember that Moses doubted his own abilities—and if you allow me, I believe Moses also doubted God’s power to enable him to speak.

Moses was able to accomplish God’s will as he walked in it, and was empowered as he obeyed God.

Suppose with me for a moment. What if Moses had refused to obey God and lead His people out of Egypt? I believe Moses would’ve remained a poor and awkward speaker and he would have missed the power of the miracle God did in his life.

Friends, our transformation is only revealed as we obey. We benefit from God’s power as we obey His word to "step out".

If we allow fear, anxiety or doubt to keep us from obedience, we neither walk in God’s will, nor do we experience His empowerment to accomplish His will.

“For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God? It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places. He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.” -Psalm 18:31-35

Adventure Anyone?

What daring adventure are you into?

Quiet Time

Psalm 18:30 (NIV)

As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.

Monday's Message

Thinking to pray...
Intriguing to think about don't you think? (Pardon the puns)

When prayer becomes an integral part of who we are, then thinking to pray will become unnecessary and obsolete. Prayer will be as natural as breathing. Throughout the day we will offer up prayers of gratitude and thanksgiving as well as those "Help me Jesus, now" prayers when faced with trouble or danger.

So how would you answer this question.
"Did you think to pray?"
I'd love to hear your story.

Quiet Time July 6, 2011

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)

Monday's Message

As I begin the last month (hopefully) on my old blog, I want to celebrate my new blog by bringing you something new: Monday's Message.
I want to bring you ideas and thoughts on different subjects and I hope you will respond with your valuable comments.

Is the word "Can't" in your vocabulary? Are there plans you're waiting to make?
Do you have dreams that are waiting to become reality?
What's stopping you and what can you do to change your cant's into cans?

Can't has always been a word in my vocabulary.
It's been there since I can remember.
In fact, this little word can't in part has shaped my life.
It's hindered me and held me back.
It's caused me to hide in my room.
It's caused me to say no.
It's caused me to procrastinate.
It's caused me to fail.

In contrast, look at this verse.

Philippians 4:13"I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

Friends, through Jesus Christ we have the power to do anything that is in the will of God. Jesus is the only one that can enable us with the power and ability to overcome and succeed in any situation.

If we learn to keep your focus on Jesus, He promises to give us the strength and the ability to succeed. BUT, please remember that God is under no obligation to strengthen us or enable us to succeed at something that is not in his will.

After studying this verse are you ready to turn your "cant's" into God's cans?
