Taking Care of Business
Hey sweet bloggy friends,

I'm going to be out of town for a few days caring for my parents and I won't have access to a computer.
For those of you who don't know my parents live about three hours away from Tom and me.
My dad suffered a massive stroke 3 1/2 years ago and has been left paralyzed, in diapers and feeding tubes.
He is quite lucid, can speak and has most of his memory.
My mom is a retired nurse and cares for him in their home because nursing homes costs are close to $7,000.00 a month and who has that?
My mom does have a little help 3-4 days a week but that cost is fast becoming difficult as well (one reason why I have 3 part-time jobs).

My mom is having a cataract removed Wednesday and I will be driving up to care for them.
I'll miss our "conversations" and hope you will continue to "talk" to one another while I'm away.

I would appreciate your prayers as this will be a long and tiring visit.

I should be back on-line late Thursday evening or early Friday morning.

Joyful Blessings Sweet Friends,
Zoe

Zoe, just wanted to let you know of my prayers. Praying the Lord will not only give you strength, but BE your strength. May He bless you with wonderful times - and patience- as you care for both your parents.

My Mom had a hip replacement a year ago and I spent a month, almost every day, 8am-8pm at my parents home. The struggle to minister with love some days became a challenge as both parents had different needs, but I was so glad I was available and able to care for them. I know the Lord will provide for you too.

Praying this will be a time of making many more wonderful, cherished memories.

Love & prayers,
Joy

Zoe,
It is an honor to care for those who once cared for us. But even still it makes for "trying" times. I pray that your visit be a great help to your parents and that the Lord grants you the strenght that you will need.

What a precious servant you are to go and take care of your parents, also willing to work 3 jobs to help out! Talk about honoring your Mom and Dad!! What a testimony you are!

I am praying for you and your family today. God will never leave you nor forsake you.

I hope to meet you at the upcoming She Speaks conference.

You have my prayers. Having helped in caring for my mom before she joined Jesus, I know a little about the drain that a caregiver faces. Do enjoy the time that you have to spend with your parents, and be blessed.

Hi Zoe...I'm back!

Lysa encouraged her blog readers to let the P31 team know of our prayers, so, just in case you forgot :o), I'm praying and claiming Psalm 91 for you.
May you find your refuge, strength and hope in the Lord.

Trust your time with your family went well.

Just a quick "Hello - it's nice to meet you"! I want you to know that as I leave your blog, I will say a prayer for you asking God to give you safe traveling mercies, a productive time taking care of your parents, and a FABULOUS weekend at the SheSpeaks conference.

Hey Zoe,

I'm praying for you, your parents and the rest of the P31 team. It seems there are a lot of attacks on presenters and attendees!

Wow! $7,000 a month? I can't believe that! That's so much money. It's good that you can help your parents out but I know it's got to be hard being far away. I pray for safe travel for you while you're gone -- and that your mom's surgery goes well :)

I'm praying for you during this time of preparation! Thank you for all the hard work you do in serving the Lord. You are a blessing!
Laura

My Dad passed away last August after being diagnosed with terminal lung cancer almost a year and a half before. So I was with him a lot....especially the last six months of his life. God will bless you for "honoring" your father and mother as you are. And when they are gone, you will have no regrets!

I have been praying for you and for the other team members getting ready for the She Speaks conference next week. Although I do write and I do sometimes speak, I won't be able to attend this meeting. But I look forward to hearing all about it.
I pray that God will bless each of you individually and as a group.

God bless you,
Marilyn in MS
